When we see people building idols and melting down gold, we never know what plans God is making RIGHT NOW up on the mountain for them. Interesting, though we havent gotten there yet ..even though the plans God has for Aaron are what he stated only a short time before, he still disciplines Aaron when the time comes. His plans do not change that. God knows that Aaron is down there blaspheming his name as he is giving the instructions for his priestly designation. It is still His plan.

I was thinking also, that it doesnt really tell us much about Aaron before all these great roles (being Moses' sidekick in Egypt, being the first priest). Was he already a great guy, having lived godly life up until then? Or, was he someone God simply saw the potential in, when otherwise he was just a plain old "guy"?

I makes me hopeful for people we see as failures and people doing nothing "great" ..who KNOWS what God has planned for them!

Okay ..gotta get started on school ..but I LOVED the Psalm today, and really love the thoughts about "the least of these". What challenges that we cant really ignore, huh?Courtneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10842076898324199994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9112439593032667008.post-4440220130391756952010-02-08T04:26:12.288-08:002010-02-08T04:26:12.288-08:00Eventhough I've been trying to keep up the rea...Eventhough I've been trying to keep up the reading, it has been impossible for me to read your blog comments and everyone elses comments and I have missed them. Why? b/c my wonderful grandchildren (Luke and Anna) are here! So, after getting up early early, I'm now caught up and loved reading all. Thanks for this. It really helps me examine myself and question my motives and take a good look at my heart!!

There weren't many comments on a few of those days but I think the weekend really makes it difficult for us to blog in. I really liked the idea that when God requires exactness, specifics, etc., He knows how to spell it out! And another thing I found interesting was all those commandment instructions...you said something like it helps us see the nature of God. Agree. It also showed me how his commandments haven't changed much: love God first, and then love each other. One more thing b/c I think I hear Luke getting up! I know the movie quote, one of my favorites! (But I'll give others a chance to guess...and just tell you personally since you are here visiting!)Gagahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09747145949566817043noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9112439593032667008.post-26210298356640230562010-02-08T04:07:25.154-08:002010-02-08T04:07:25.154-08:00a couple things about the judgement passage...
* ...a couple things about the judgement passage...

* i've read so many books lately, i can't remember where i read this (shane claiborne i think...), but it was mentioned that we are so quick to shove money at stuff or drop off our clothes at Goodwill or our food at the pantry and think, "ok, check, i helped the poor and needy" when maybe what Jesus really wanted was our act of service, our love and a relationship. like your friend who called you out of the blue.

*the sheep didn't realize they had done anything. they said, who us?? makes me wonder about pride and my heart being in the right place and not serving because i should but because i want to and it comes natural. looking for opportunities with open eyes, ears, heart to love, not making it a check on a list of "to dos".

all for now. :o)Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07856221825880891809noreply@blogger.com
